Security cameras have popped up all over the landscape of modern urban life - in malls, roadways, casinos, airports - the list goes on. Virtually all modern security cameras have one common problem - they have one eye and no ears. The Holophone's multi-channel audio capturing technology will give a new edge to global security with realistic audio monitoring which will move in conjunction with video monitoring.

The Holophone ROVER concept was created in response to demand for a remotely operated security sentry. It was presented to the U.S. Military in March, 2002. The multi-terrain Rover is driven remotely, and can transmit wireless Holophone derived 6.1 -channel surround sound, and colour video, to the base unit. It gives the operator the sensation of actually being in the monitored location, which makes for easier remote operation and has obvious target localization potential.
