The crowd sounds for Oliver Stone's Football movie were recorded with the Holophone® at the University of Michigan Homecoming Football Game Game in October '99 vs. Perdue. We tested the wireless version down on the field near the 30 yard line and used the hard-wired version as well. Cool game.

Lots of rain and dirt. The 6.1(top channel discreet) recordings were then monitored at the studio (Rising Sun Productions Ltd.) and sent off to Soundelux in Hollywood where they were edited and cut into the final soundtrack. It was really cool to send off these tapes because it actually felt like we were sending off a three dimensional piece of the game: especially 111,000 people singing the "Star Spangled Banner". Soundelux people felt the same way when they received the recordings.
